You built a world readers never want to leave—what if they didn’t have to?

At Lumina Literary Tours, LLC, we partner with authors to create immersive, story-driven travel experiences inspired by your books. Each journey is designed with you, rooted in your setting, your atmosphere, and the emotional heartbeat of your novel — crafted for women who crave meaning, magic, and connection.

Whether you write romantasy, contemporary romance, historical fiction, or witchy tales, Lumina turns your story world into a destination readers can step into.

Book-inspired travel turns your story into a place readers can actually step into.
We partner with authors to design immersive retreats built around your characters, settings, and emotional arcs — for readers who want more than a book club.

They want to:
• walk where your characters walked
• dine where lovers met
• breathe in the landscapes that shaped your plot twists

From lush fantasy & romantasy realms to evocative historical fiction, atmospheric magical realism, and all things witchy, folkloric, or gothic — we help turn your story world into a destination.

What Is Book-Inspired Travel?

Reader Retreats, Fantasy Book Travel, and Real-Life Story Worlds

Your journey begins with a simple email to April, our Author Collaboration Coordinator.
You’ll share a bit about your books, your audience, and the story world you dream of bringing to life.

From there, April will guide you through:

what types of tours resonate with our community

what the collaboration timeline looks like

No pressure, no prep work — just a warm conversation about possibilities.

The Inquiry

step one

The Author’s Guide to Reader-Author Travel Collaboration

Meet Kate & April on Zoom

If it feels like a strong fit, we’ll schedule a call with both founders of your experience:

✨ April shares all things community
— how we support your readers
— how authors show up on tour
— how we hold space for connection

✨ Kate handles the logistics
— itinerary direction
— budgeting + feasibility
— destinations that match your book
— how the whole process works

This call is all about clarity, chemistry, and creative spark.

The Alignment Call

step two

From our first chat to your final chapter abroad, every step of the journey is intentional. Here’s how we craft a trip that feels like it was written just for you.

Sign On & Begin Designing the Itinerary

Once you’re ready, we formalize the partnership with an author agreement — clear, simple, and crafted to protect your time and creative boundaries.

Then the magic begins:
Kate starts designing your custom book-inspired itinerary, and you approve every key element.
This is where your fictional world starts translating into real-world touchpoints.

The Agreement & Worldbuilding Phase

step three

From our first chat to your final chapter abroad, every step of the journey is intentional. Here’s how we craft a trip that feels like it was written just for you.

Open Bookings & Build Your Reader Community

With your itinerary finalized, Lumina launches the tour page and handles:

  • booking management
  • vendor coordination
  • guest communication
  • payment systems
  • on-the-ground logistics

Together, you and Lumina co-market the experience — inviting your readers to step inside your world. April supports your community, and you can pop in for Q&As, bonuses, and behind-the-scenes moments.

The end of this phase is the beginning of the adventure:
your readers arriving, ready to walk into your story.

How to Create a Tour Based on Your Book

Meet April — Your Author Collaboration Coordinator

Professional. Playful. Passionate about bringing book worlds to life.

April is Lumina’s Author Collaboration Coordinator — the person who helps turn your fictional world into a beautifully organized, soul-aligned reader experience.

She’s your go-to from the very first inquiry: guiding initial brainstorming, managing timelines and approvals, coordinating contracts, and making sure your inbox never catches fire. With her gift for communication and her deep love of story, she keeps every part of the process clear, calm, and beautifully supported.

But beyond the logistics?

April is a lifelong bookworm, a proud Trekkie, and pet mama to Samwise and Zelda. She’s married to her real-life prince charming, writes short stories, daydreams about Italy, and folds laundry on a 7–10 business-day turnaround.

Warm, witty, and wildly enthusiastic, April brings heart to every collaboration — and she can’t wait to work with you.

“In the lands of ice and echo, stories linger in the wind.”

Beneath the northern lights and beside frozen fjords, a world from Ashley McLeo’s imagination is quietly coming to life. A Kingdom of Frost and Malice—an epic steeped in power, prophecy, and cold enchantment—has inspired an intimate literary journey to Norway, where myth meets mountain.

Though the tour has yet to unfold, the blueprint is laced with magic:

  • Snow-draped villages that echo with Norse legend
  • Silent boat rides through glass-still waters
  • Candlelit readings beneath vaulted wooden ceilings

This is more than a setting—it’s a summoning.

❄️ In Ashley’s Words
“To see the world I imagined begin to breathe in a real place—it’s like watching a dream frost over into reality.”

Christy Schillig writes contemporary romance with heart and humor — stories that feel like a warm glass of wine in your hand and just enough tension to keep you smiling long after the last page. Her novels Wish You Weren’t Here and Lessons in Falling are beloved for sharp banter, layered characters, and settings that almost feel like characters themselves.

A middle school teacher by day and storyteller by nature, Christy lives in South Jersey with her husband (her best friend since sixth grade), their two kids, and their dogs, Puppay and Sheep. She studied Italian Literature and Language at Villanova University — a degree that now shows up in her love of Italy, travel, and beautiful settings.

J.A. Forde writes contemporary romances that feel like a deep breath — warm, heartfelt, and full of characters who love boldly and imperfectly. Her stories blend real emotion with atmospheric settings, from sun-drenched adventures to windswept places that linger long after the last page.

Best known for her Love Along the Way series — including On a Flight to Sydney, On the Slopes of Tahoe, and her beloved Scottish romance On the Ferry to Skye — Forde creates worlds that sweep you up and make you believe in second chances, serendipity, and the kind of love that stays with you.

Jen O’Brien is the multi-talented founder of the beloved lifestyle brand City Farmhouse — a design blog turned creative hub that champions charm, thoughtful living, and spaces that feel like home. A longtime design expert, photographer, stylist, and storyteller, Jen brings the same heartfelt warmth to her fiction that she does to her beloved DIY and design content.

In The Summer I Found You, Jen’s debut novel, readers fall into a sun-soaked contemporary romance set on Long Island’s North Fork — a place full of salt air, old houses waiting to be loved again, and love stories that bloom when you least expect them.

Jen lives on the East End of Long Island with her husband, two boys, and their dog Denver, grounded in the kind of everyday moments — honest, tender, unpretentious — that make her stories feel like close friends you can sit with for hours.

E.E. Holmes is an internationally bestselling author best known for immersive fantasy and paranormal series like The Gateway Trilogy and The Gateway Trackers — stories full of rich world-building, layered characters, and that satisfying blend of danger and discovery that keeps readers turning pages late into the night.

She grew up near Boston, Massachusetts, devouring books with such commitment she perfected walking while reading without (usually) falling over — a skill that hints at the passion she brings to her craft.

Holmes lives in central Massachusetts with her husband, two children, and a surprisingly loud dog. When she’s not writing, she’s probably binge-watching British television, rediscovering old favorites, or plotting her next world-bending story.
